Manage Orders Efficiently in AfterShip Shipping Admin

Overview



You can easily generate labels, mark orders as shipped, and manage split orders through the AfterShip Shipping admin portal.

Shipment status



Orders are assigned one of the following statuses at any given time: pending payment, awaiting shipment, label generated, or shipped. Using the admin portal, you can ship your orders quickly with just a few clicks.

Shipment details



For orders in the pending payment and awaiting shipment statuses, you can enter the following shipment details:

Ship from location: You can add warehouse locations and addresses where your shipments originate. The default location will be used for all incoming orders.

Service type: Based on the carrier accounts you’ve set up in AfterShip Shipping admin, the available service types will be shown for each order. You can use AfterShip Shipping USPS accounts with discounted rates or your own carrier accounts for custom rates.

Package: You’ll be presented with available package types—such as envelope, custom, flat, or letter—depending on the selected shipping service.

Package dimensions: Specify the package’s length, width, and height. The weight will be auto-calculated when the orders are imported.

Service options : Currently, the following service options are supported:

Electronic signature
Carrier insurance

Customs: You must provide the shipment’s origin, HS code, and unit weight.

Generate labels: Labels can be generated for orders in the awaiting shipment status.

Go to the AfterShip Shipping admin > Select the order you need > Add shipment details

Print packing slips: AfterShip Shipping supports printing packing slips for the orders Awaiting shipment. Learn more

Mark orders as shipped: To manually mark orders in the label generated status as shipped:

Go to the AfterShip Shipping admin > Select the order
Check the “Notify platform and customer” option > Mark as shipped

Once the package is shipped, the Shopify order status will update to Fulfilled. Shopify will also notify customers that their order has been shipped. Be sure to select the correct inventory source for all Ship from locations.
